LincPoller

Directory polling utility for PCL, and PostScript file converters

DESCRIPTION:
LincPoller is a directory polling utility for Lincoln's PCL, PostScript, and LincPDF file converters. Running as an NT service, it polls a directory for files, converts them to TIFF or PDF, and delivers the output to another directory.

The directory structure is fixed as follows, although this fixed structure may reside in any directory.

EPFaxW (PCL, PS to TIFF):
\YourPath\TIFF\cache
\YourPath\TIFF\in
\YourPath\TIFF\out

LincPDF (PCL to PDF):
\YourPath\PDF\cache
\YourPath\PDF\in
\YourPath\PDF\out

Files found in the "in" directory are converted to TIFF or PDF output, and put into the "out" directory. Files reside in the "cache" directory during conversion. \YourPath can be located anywhere, but it must contain the prescribed internal directory structure because the registry points to \YourPath.

INSTALLATION:
Run install.exe to start installation. By default, LincPoller is installed in \Program Files\Lincoln\LincPoller, or in \LincPoller under your existing path to the Lincoln converter. Choose custom install to install LincPoller in a different directory.

The following files will be installed in ...\Lincoln\LincPoller or in \YourPath:
\Program Files\Lincoln\LincPoller\LincPoller.exe
\Program Files\Lincoln\LincPoller\lincoln.msc

The following files will be installed on the system drive:
\Program Files\Common Files\Lincoln\COM\MMCLincoln.dll
\WINNT\Downloaded Installations\{E7E13FB8-A811-4E06-92A7-A737EF92F326}\LincPoller.msi

The LincPoller service will be installed and configured for automatic startup, but not started. When the service is started (either manually or automatically upon reboot) the subdirectories will be created.

CONFIGURE LINCPOLLER:
Use the Microsoft Management Console (MMCLincoln.dll) to configure the conversion output. To open the console, double-click on the file in Windows Explorer. In the console window, open the directory tree. Right-click on the desired converter and then click on Properties.

Most, but not all, of the available conversion options can be configured here. Only the following EPFaxW options can be configured: TIFF resolution, Fax encoding, multipage output, monochrome/color bitmap, half-tone (PS-TIFF only).

All LincPDFW options can be configured except for PDF 1.3 output, View PDF after conversion, and watermark.

UNINSTALL:
Uninstall LincPoller from the Add/Remove Programs utility. All files will be removed except \WINNT\Downloaded Installations\{E7E13FB8-A811-4E06-92A7-A737EF92F326}\LincPoller.msi. The LincPoller service will be removed after a reboot.
